A conference for all leaders (Primary and Secondary) leading on curriculum change and development.
Aims:


To consider some key principles of good curriculum design


To engage in wider thinking about a knowledge rich curriculum approach


To appreciate the changes planned for the new Ofsted Inspection framework and the research behind it.




Mary Myatt
Mary has written extensively about curriculum design and is a wealth of knowledge about school improvement. Mary will inspire us all to think about some key aspects of her book Curriculum – from Gallimaufry to cohesion a must read for all curriculum leaders of any phase.
Jon Hutchinson
Jon is Foundation Curriculum Lead at Reach Academy Feltham and has extensive experience of designing and innovating their curriculum approach. He will inspire us about his meticulous detailed planning for a knowledge rich curriculum and bring a clear academic rationale
Mark Lehain
Mark is Director of Parents & Teachers for Excellence, a group encouraging schools to adopt best practice in the areas of behaviour, knowledge-rich curricula, rigorous and sensible assessments, and cultural enrichment. Mark will share some practical examples of what a knowledge rich curriculum looks like.
Chris Jones
Chris is Deputy Director of Research and Evaluation for Ofsted. Chris will update us on the key thinking and research behind the updated Ofsted framework with an overview of the implications of this in the schedule and share some key research reports with us.
