Saturday, 27. October 2018, Clapham Common, Divorce - How to Start Proceeding and Preparation for Court

Learn how to be a litigant-in-person and how to prepare for court when representing yourself.
-          Currently involved a Divorce proceeding or Child Arrangement?
-          Thinking to start any of these Family Legal Procedures?
-          Requested to comply with a Court Order relating to children?
-          Decided to come to an end on Cohabitation?
-          Feeling lost or alone dealing with all the paperwork or with a financial remedy proceeding?
This workshop will be delivered in very small group of people and aims to do the following:
* To enable participants to have a bigger understanding and general view of a divorce and child arrangement proceeding as well as a financial dispute resolution. Remember that every case is different depending on the personal circumstances.
* To provide you with more information about how to be a litigant-in-person in a Family Court.
* To assist participants with any Application Form or Personal Statement that they need to submit or respond to barrister / solicitors or the Family Court.
* To help you to identify which legal support you may need in a future.
* To relieve the stress and emotions you have been holding during this time either because of the personal crisis or the feeling of being alone through this family justice system.
We are aware that court proceedings can become dominated by paperwork and emotions, so the control of those are a very important skill to master to ensure that you will convey your case to the judge.
It will be delivered to you some details and information that you should bear in mind when commencing a divorce proceeding. Useful websites and links will be provided.
We want you to feel this time as a great opportunity to have someone to talk about your experience and get rid of part of the stress and emotions you have been suffering / holding lately.
EMPOWERING TOGETHER – Our Lifebuilding Law
After the education and knowledge you will have gained, this workshop will end with an Empowering Time for the Attendants (if they want to stay a bit longer with us).
This workshop is part of a great project to support and encourage people who are arranging their own divorce / dissolution with little or no legal advice. So please bring your questions, doubts, and application forms (or laptop for online applications) you need to sort out and £25 to help us to develop this project. Hot drinks, water and biscuits will be provided at any time during this workshop. Once you registered, we will contact you for more details regarding the event.
And as Beau Taplin said “She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them”. We don’t make any difference between she/he.
