Stephen JenkinsLiaison & Diversion Service LeadCriminal Justice Liaison and Diversion TeamThe Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion service are a specialised team provided by Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) to work within police custody suites, Birmingham Magistrates Court, and the community.The team consists of Allied Health Professionals, Support Time & Recovery workers (STR) and peer mentors, who assess vulnerable individuals with complex needs who are being brought into the Criminal Justice System having been accused of criminal activity. These needs include, but is not limited to, support with mental health, a learning disability, substance misuse, homelessness, financial needs or social difficulties.We also aim to improve liaison between the criminal justice system and health and social care agencies.The service provides early intervention and aims to address health and social inequalities in order to reduce criminality and re-offending behaviours.

Kerry Webb Clinical Nurse ConsultantIncreased high rates of suicidal behaviourA mental health nurse who trained in Birmingham and after a period working around the country and overseas returned to work with Birmingham and Solihull NHS Mental health Trust. He initially worked in liaison psychiatry and the addictions services before going on to a role as a nurse consultant with lead responsibility for ******* prevention within BSMHFT. He has overseen the first BSMHFT ******* prevention strategy (now in revision) and developed the ******* prevention training for clinical staff within the Trust, something not previously available. He is also the clinical director for acute care services.
Raymond DouglasYouth violenceHe is one of the UK’s leading thinkers and “doers” around working with at risk pupils and young people.A prolific trainer and curriculum developer; created numerous intervention programs tackling youth conflict & violence aiming to reduce the number of those at risk of life-threatening behavior involving guns, gangs, knife crime & extremism.An approved trainer for governmental departments and currently delivers within schools, colleges, universities and prisons.He has spoken at Tedx and has worked nationally and internationally training and advising schools and local authorities around reducing systemic youth his Minus Violence program reaches over 10,000 young people and pupils per year and 2019 see the release of his first book Gangs by transformation no
